Anthony W. Grafals

Tony has spent the majority of his twenty-three year career practicing law in-house. Most recently, he served as General Counsel for Rossmoor Walnut Creek, a 6,700 unit common interest development community with over 300 employees, where he had full legal responsibility for every facet of operations as well as executive oversight for the HR and Public Safety Departments. Prior to that, he spent ten years as a generalist at a major corporation with over 1,000 employees having operations in all fifty U.S. states and Canada plus three other continents.

Before becoming an attorney, Tony had a successful career specializing in financial institutions compliance first as a bank examiner then later as a Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager at one of the nation’s largest banks. Upon receiving his first license to practice law in Alabama in 1997, Tony worked first as a bond trustee focused primarily on healthcare bond default workouts, then later as ERISA counsel for a large employee benefits trust company. He later moved west and obtained his license to practice law in California in 2004.

Tony’s practice focuses primarily on business general counsel services, employer-side labor and employment law, employee benefits, corporate governance, privacy and data security, commercial trusts, and general business matters. Additionally, Tony has formal training and experience advising California Common Interest Developments in matters relating to the Davis-Stirling Act, insurance, commercial banking, and financial institutions compliance.
