Biography

Betty practices in the areas of Probate and Trust Litigation where she represents trustees (e.g., individuals, private fiduciaries, and corporate fiduciaries) and beneficiaries, Conservatorship Disputes, and establishing Conservatorships and Guardianships for individuals needing such assistance. She is also a part of the firm’s Alternative Disputes Resolution (ADR)/Mediation practice group, where she helps parties avoid expensive lawsuits by working with them to craft creative, cost-effective solutions to satisfactorily resolve their legal disputes outside of court. Betty was born and raised in San Francisco, California. While in law school, she was a member of a law review, the Hastings International and Comparative Law Journal. During this time, the journal selected her paper from among many, for publication. Ms. Homer had the privilege of working as an extern for the Honorable James Larson (ret.), former Chief U.S. Magistrate Judge for the Northern District of California. She also clerked for the San Francisco City Attorney’s Office and then at an intellectual property law firm. After being admitted to the State Bar in 2001, Betty practiced in the areas of intellectual property, business law, insurance defense, bad faith, and coverage law, with well-known firms including an AmLaw 100 firm.

Betty has served as the acting chair for the Trusts and Estates Section of the Solano County Bar Association since 2010. In 2012, she was selected to become a court-paneled mediator for the California Court of Appeal, Third Appellate District.

Betty is admitted to practice before all state and federal courts in California.
